I bought a car last night and i need to take it in for an emissions test. I want to have insurance, so i can drive it to enforcement but i dont want any long term insurance commitment in case it doesent pass emissions.

Are there are reputable companies that will insure my car for only a week or so? Im from the US.

It used to be that all car insurance companies only insure you for 6 months or 1 year period, but nowadays there are a few companies that offer short term or temporary insurance.

Short term car insurance means that you will get a insurance policy coverage for up to 1 month. It is usually valid for 2 weeks or 4 weeks period.

It is usually cheaper to get a yearly regular auto insurance policy, but if you just need it for less than one month, then temporary car insurance may be good for you.
