Are there any short-term auto insurance companies in the US?
All companies require you to take out a 6 month or 1 year policy. You can either pay in full, or pay monthly.
Temporary Car Insurance?
Most insurance companies offer temporary operating permits (or TOPS as they are known in the industry). They can be for 1 day to 2 weeks. More expensive than a full term 1 year policy but if you only need it for one day dont go through the hassle of taking out a long term policy, cancel it in a couple of days and pay a cancellation penalty (oh yes there will be one).
I need help finding short term insurance!!!?
You would want to use your parents address as your semi-permanent residence and apply based on that information.
United Healthcare, Anthem, Assurant and a few others all offer policies for up to six months.
One thing to consider: If you were in an accident and it kept you in the US for longer than six months – your coverage would end and you quite possibly could be uninsurable at that point.
Maybe consider buying a permanent policy and cancelling it after your time here is up.
